A Day For the Mamas

As Mother's Day is right around the corner {this sunday!} this blog post is dedicated to all things regarding it. From the gifts to the brunch attire, this post is your source for ideas. Mother's Day is the day we can show our mothers or mother figures just how well they raised us, and our gifts and brunch (or breakfast or dinner) ensembles should reflect all they've taught us.

First: The Outfit. Whether you're dining at her favorite restaurant or a country club, your outfit should be chic, modest and mature. I'm going with a blue and white striped A-line skirt dress that has a bateau neckline. It goes down to just above my knees so it's modest enough, but still very feminine. I'm pairing it with some white lacey BCBG pumps for a dainty finish. It's always nice to add a wide-brimmed sunhat for any brunch occasion and Mother's Day is no exception. Dress to make your mama proud!

Second: The Gifts. Whether you're shopping for your mom or another mom in your life, flowers are ALWAYS a good idea (unless she's allergic that's always awkward). If you're looking for a more personal gift here are some things to remember:

~Moms want to be eternally youthful so some nice face washes or moisturizers that aid in skin health are greatly appreciated.

~Moms want to be cozy, so nice slippers and a robe will be used probably daily if purchased.

~Moms LOVE handmade, therefore if you can paint her something on canvas, a cup or a plate in time, give that a try. She will cherish it forever.

~Think about where your mom spends her time, and purchase a gift accordingly. For instance, if she adores cooking, maybe some new pots/pans or an apron. If she loves the beach, maybe a new beach bag filled with the essentials (a new towel, sunscreen and sunglasses).

I hope your Mother's Day Sunday is wonderful and filled with love and great food.  Have a great weekend!💋
